Twenty Good Years[]
Is it stated explicitly that the show first aired in 1986, or "twenty years ago?" Or was it just stated to be in its 20th season? Both of those don't seem to work together. If it was a normal season show (September-May), and it started in 1986, then September 2006 would be the beginning of the 21st season (just like 2000 was the beginning of the 26th season of 1975's SNL). Of course it's possible that they had an extended season sometime (probably at the beginning), or that they exist in 2005 (have to make some date changes if that's true), or even a couple sneak preview episodes.
